David A. Roush has worked in health care as an attorney, regulator, consultant, operator-owner, investor, and public policy advisor.
In 1997 he co-founded a health care organization which today comprises the full spectrum of the Roush & Associates and Radius Health Care Companies. The Companies provide an array of consulting, planning, development and management services primarily in the senior care sector. Additionally, the companies own, operate or manage nearly 2,000 health care facility beds and employ more than 2,000 employees in programs including skilled nursing facilities, Medicare transitional care, Alzheimer and Dementia Care, assisted living and LTACH Hospital care.
As a consultant, Mr. Roush has specialized in strategic planning, regulatory affairs, network design, project management and facility work-outs. Recent work has included assisting hospitals, nursing homes, senior housing facilities and community based senior care providers look at service diversification and innovative service collaborations.
Prior to 1997 Mr. Roush worked as Principal in the ADS Group for eight years. He served as the Managing Partner of ADS Consulting during this period. His work included directing nearly 100 turn-arounds for troubled nursing facility properties; consulting to more than 40 acute care hospitals concerning selected senior care projects; helping two dozen clients design, approve, build and open new health care facilities; and serving as lead consultant in the first generation of assisted living facility projects in Massachusetts in the early to mid 1990s. Mr. Roush authored a book titled “Integrated Senior Care: Assisted Living and Long Term Manual” for Thompson Publishing Group in 1996.
Before joining ADS, Mr. Roush worked as an attorney and health care regulator for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. His work in government included directing the Patient Protection Office; helping launch Massachusetts’ Patient Abuse reporting and investigation unit; starting the State’s first Medicare Patient Program; and coordinating several hundred State regulatory enforcement cases involving quality of care and fraud and abuse to the Department of Health and Human Services.
Mr. Roush is a member of Angel Health Care Investors in Boston, a Board member of Vineyard Village at Home, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Democratic National Committee.
He is a graduate of Columbia College and Boston University School of Law.

Christine Bassett is a Principal and co-founder of the Roush/Radius companies. Ms. Bassett manages the firm’s operational services. Her professional career includes more than 35 years of health care experience. She is the President of the firm’s post-acute management company, Radius Management Services.
Roush & Associates was formed in 1997, and provides consulting and strategic planning services to the Northeast healthcare providers with a concentration on not-for-profit institutions. Radius Management Services was founded in 1999 and manages its owned skilled nursing facilities, as well as skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities for other providers, including not-for-profit providers.
Prior to joining Roush/Radius, Ms. Bassett worked at the ADS Group in Newton, MA. Her work included serving as Managing Director of ADS Consulting, Vice President for Operations for ADS Berkshire, and Vice President of Marketing. As Vice President for the Daley Hotel Group, she was responsible for operations of three Boston hotels. She directed a $40 million renovation and refurbishment program, and developed comprehensive marketing and public relations strategies for the group as well as serving as Executive Vice President of Operations. As Director of Operations for JD Associates, Inc., she had executive responsibility for the operations of luxury, multi-level nursing and retirement facilities.
Ms. Bassett has provided private consultation to long-term facilities, CCRCs, and assisted living facilities. She has also taught healthcare administration at three universities in the greater Boston area. She holds a B.A. from Boston College/Newton College and an Ed.M. from the University of Massachusetts.

Jeffrey Landa joined Roush & Associates as a Partner in 1998 to establish the Financial Services Division for the Consulting Practice. He is a Certified Public Accountant with over twenty years experience in the field of health care finance.
While at R&A, Jeff has helped numerous not-for-profit senior care providers solve many strategic, operational, regulatory and reporting issues. Successes have included determinations of financial feasibility for appropriate compliment of Independent, Assisted and Skilled Nursing Services; creation and/or restructuring of fiscal services departments; provision of CFO services, including training, oversight and mentoring of staff; implementation of financial and management reporting tools; liaison services with Governance, regulators and lenders.
Prior to joining Roush & Associates, Mr. Landa was the Senior Vice President of Finance for the Olympus Healthcare Group. In this capacity he was responsible for the appropriate recognition and maximization of revenue, third-party reimbursement issues, management of the financial impact of regulatory changes and product/service line costing.
As the Assistant Vice President of Finance for the ADS Group, Jeff developed protocols and provided financial and reimbursement advisory services to more than 20 hospital-based transitional care units, throughout their proposal, development, start-up and operational phases. In addition, he was responsible for the operating budgets for all free-standing nursing facilities, management of all third-party reimbursement, cost reporting, and internal audits, company wide.
Recognized as an authority on third-party reimbursement in the post-acute marketplace, Jeff was appointed to the American Healthcare Association’s PPS Committee that worked directly with CMS in developing and implementing Medicare’s prospective payment system. He has spoken at numerous seminars hosted by groups in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut on financial and reimbursement issues and the opportunities presented by regulatory change. He is past chairman of the Massachusetts Society of CPA’s Long-Term Care Committee.
Jeff holds a BS in Accounting from Bentley University.

Barbara J. Wyser is Managing Director of Roush & Associates, Inc. Ms. Wyser manages all R&A’s consulting services. Working closely with R&A colleagues and other individuals delivering product to consulting clients, she is directly involved with every proposal and engagement of contracted services undertaken by R&A. Ms. Wyser is accountable for overall communication and quality control and oversees corporate communications. She delivers selected consulting services directly, particularly in the areas of public policy, regulatory affairs, advocacy and public relations. Her primary client focus is on not-for-profit senior service organizations in Massachusetts and throughout New England.
Ms. Wyser has over 25 years experience in public affairs, development, community relations and management in both the private and public sectors. Prior to joining Roush & Associates, Ms. Wyser served as Director of Public Affairs for the ADS Group, a Massachusetts healthcare company specializing in the development and management of eldercare facilities. Here she promoted the national and state visibility of the company, developed media relationships to enhance public exposure, researched and monitored regulatory and legislative activity related to healthcare and wrote policy papers, articles and speeches to facilitate these activities.
Ms. Wyser holds a B.A from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is an alumna of the Graduate Program for Women in Politics at Boston College.

Gardi Hauck has worked in the senior housing marketing industry since 1981, and serves as Director of Senior Housing Marketing for Roush & Associates.
Ms. Hauck’s experience in pre-sales of entry fee retirement communities includes Hebrew Senior Life – NewBridge on the Charles in Dedham, Stella Maris in Quincy, the Residences at Snow Place in Roslindale, the Community at Pond Meadow in Wrentham, Fuller Village in Milton, Fox Hill Village in Westwood, and Carleton Willard Village in Bedford. In addition to consulting for a number of other independent retirement communities, she oversaw the successful start-up marketing of The Seasons and The Villa at St. Antoine, both assisted living facilities in Rhode Island.
Her experience working with residential care homes includes assignments with Winchester Mount Vernon House in Winchester, Hale House in Boston, Merrimack River Valley House in Lowell, the Dana Home in Lexington, the Sophia Snow House in Roslindale, and the Pond Home in Wrentham. Ms. Hauck was responsible for the start-up and on-going marketing and admissions for Mary Ann Morse Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Natick. In addition, she served as project analyst in the planning department of Framingham Union Hospital. Ms. Hauck is on the Board of Directors of the Scandinavian Living Center, an assisted living facility in West Newton, and serves as Treasurer. She holds a B.A. from Smith College.

Anne Marie Brightman has worked in the elder care industry since 1984 and serves as an Associate Consultant for Roush & Associates.
Ms. Brightman’s experience in skilled nursing facilities includes direct care, executive operations and marketing/community relations with organizations including A.D.S, The Whittier Health Network and Beverly Health Care. In addition, she served as Senior Services Program Director and Gerontology Division Administrator at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center focusing on improving inpatient and outpatient care as well as the discharge process for seniors transitioning to a skilled nursing facility setting.
Her experience working in the community setting spans direct care, volunteering, policy and program administration, case management, executive operations, and marketing/community relations with organizations including Elite Home Health Care, Hallmark Hospice, The Executive Office of Elder Affairs, Jewish Family Children Services and HouseWorks, LLC.
Her consulting assignments have included program development and member recruitment for Vineyard Village at Home and Radius Inner Circle/DoveTail Health
as well as market analyses for long term care continuum providers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Ms. Brightman holds a B.A. from Saint Anselm College and a Masters Degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

Mary Woods, RN is a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of experience in the health care field and is the Chief Clinical Consultant for Roush & Associates.
Prior to joining Roush & Associates, Ms. Woods served as the Chief Nursing Officer for a 140 bed skilled nursing facility located in the greater Boston area and part of the Partners HealthCare System. Here she worked collaboratively and extensively with the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Care Department at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Ms. Woods is experienced in a variety of management positions within the acute hospital, Ambulatory Specialty and Long-term care settings. She has also worked in three separate Regional Health Systems in both Massachusetts and New York State. Currently, she provides a wide array of clinical consulting services to Roush & Associates not-for-profit consulting clients.
Ms. Woods was awarded a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from Keuka College in Keuka Park, New York and holds nursing licenses in Massachusetts and New York State.
Janet C. Hall is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of varied clinical and consultative experience in the health care field. She serves as Senior Clinical Consultant for Roush & Associates, Inc.
After receiving her nursing degree from Springfield Community College in 1990, Ms. Hall worked in the acute care setting, specializing in intensive care, cardiac care, and emergency care.
Ms. Hall’s career focus then shifted to long term care. She has held various positions including Unit Manager, MDS Coordinator, Staff Development Coordinator, and Director of Nurses. She served as Coordinator of Physician’s Services for Golan HealthCare, covering both Massachusetts and New Hampshire territories. Subsequently, Ms. Hall became an independent nursing consultant, specializing in program development, implementation, turn-around activities, education, and clinical management.
Immediately prior to joining Roush & Associates, Ms. Hall was a clinical leader at Radius Health sister company Radius Management Services. There she served as a Regional Clinical Nurse Specialist, a senior nursing consultant, the Vice President of Clinical Services and finally as the Director of Clinical Education.
